Time to Brew
WoooooooHooooooo!!!!
Time to start another batch of beer, actually it’s time to start two. I’ve got to brew to batches of the same brew for some neighbors. They dug my Rye-PA so much that they wanted their own, so luckily me. I know what you’re saying, it sounds like it is torture for me to have to brew, not at all. The unfortunate part is out of all the work I am only going to wind up with one case. Hey one is better the none.
I’m trying something new though. After I rack the first batch to secondary I am saving the spent yeast bed to use on the the second batch. I will update this post with the outcome. My local brew store, Grape and Granary , experts tell me that it works very well and that actually the fermentation will take off on the second batch a lot faster, sounds good to me.
I’ll keep you posted on the outcome and maybe even post some pics of the process.

home brew away big guy. those neighbors better be appreciative. other wise I’ll be right over and we’d polish off that rye. on a beer note….I just did a ebay search for “beer stein”. let’s just say I was disappointed, shall we? if what I saw wasn’t from buttweiser than it had a bunch of old german guys in lederhosen. not my scene, know what I mean jellybean? be nice to find something really simple and old school. think 18th century colonial days almost, you know. I’m seeing a simple crock like drinking vessel, plain metal lid might be nice but not necessary. I don’t want some crappy tin lid hitting me in the nose and sh#t when all I wanna do is drink. correct? what do you know about here? anything available from your candle connections? of course maybe the best option I have is homemade. a new kiln just went in across the main road from my place after all. just thinking out loud. be well. outta’ here.
