Old 97’s

A couple of years ago my brother turned me and my wife on to the Old 97’s. He said that they were a good old fashioned rock and roll band and that they put on a great show. Well that’s enough for me. We started looking around in the record stores and the used record stores, sorry when I say record store I should qualify CD store, but since I’m kind of old school I still call them records. We started accumulating a pretty good collection of them, I think we are only missing one CD.

The Old 97’s are considered “alt-country”, but basically they are just a very good rip roarin old school rock. They sometimes get a little twangy or slide guitary, I typically can’t stand country but I will always listen to the Old 97’s.

Their stage shows are some of the best that we have seen, constant energy and fun. They don’t just go out there and go through the motions, they are honestly out there have a good time and if you’ve been to a lot of shows you know what I’m talking about.

Everyone should check the concert schedules for you area and watch for the Old 97’s to go their way. I just checked today and they have added a bunch of shows onto their schedule, from Texas to New York. I know that I am already penciling in the Cleveland date at the Beachland Ballroom into my calendar.
