What’s in the Pod

I listen to a very eclectic mix of music.

In my iPod I always have:
3-4 Cake albums
2-3 Old 97’s
1-2 Mike Doughty/Soul Coughing
1-2 Jimmies Chicken Shack
1-2 Flogging Molly
then I fill in with some old school tunes from the 80’s and early 90’s

newer material is alittle Jack Johnson, Gogol Bordello, gorillaz,

I try to put some Tom Waits on but he drives my wife crazy, which stinks because I just got the Orphans set and I am dying to put it on. the same goes for Beck and Bela Fleck

    Old 97’s..huh.I should check these guys. have heard of them but couldn’t pick their music out of a lineup. will do. here’s a few for you two. I used to think that the days of alternative music was gone but now I think it’s even more obscure and kinda hard to find thru the masses of other crap that’s out there. I really dig alot of the music on iTunes radio. WRCT(Pittsburgh!!!represent),WNYU(New York),KFJC(Bay area),WXYC(Chapel Hill). college radio!..the youngsters still play the coolest jive.
    look these cats up. try YouTube,I guess. Melt Banana(real tight Japanese quartet,check the bassist 4 and a half foot powerhouse!), Valiant Thorr(nordic speed metal freaks or as I like to say the Unibomber’s house band).enjoy kids. Tob
