Beer, Music and Brewing are just a few of my Favorite Things

Stouts

Where do I start…I don’t think that I have one favorite stout, but I guesss the top of my list are- Makesons, Thirsty Dog Siberian Night (on tap of course), Pike 5X, Young’s Double chocolate, Lancaster Brewing Milk Stout.

I’ve brewed a porter, but I foresee a chocolate stout in the very near future. Austin Homebrew has a recipe in their list for a chocolate stout that is suppose to be comparable to Young’s, but we’ll see. If anyone has any other stout recipes that they are willing to share I would love to try them out. I don’t tend to stick to certain beers at certain times of the year. I can drink stout or lager or IPA anytime of year.

I just love the smell of the specialty grains before you put them in the steep.

BEER GOOD!!!!!

  1. as long as we’re thinking beer.this crossed my mind the other day…homemade stout. I started to check online for Homebrew. equally frustrating and confusing. I was gonna ask you this anyway so thank for the tips on Austin Homebrew, and the commercial available Makeson’s,Pike,Young’s,etc. I will probably have to track these down in Santa Fe, or Albuquerque. I end up buying Guinness or Red Hook Porter more than a few times around here. yep.
